Saturday, 9 December | 5:30 - 9:30pm
Figtree High School Oval

Celebrate Christmas with our community at Figtree Community Carols! Special guest artists and local performers will lead us in singing all your favourite Christmas carols, with the evening concluding once again with a spectacular fireworks display (weather permitting). There will be free face painting and activities for the little ones, carnival rides, and a BBQ as well as a range of food vendors. We'd love for you to join us, as we celebrate the Christmas season together.
|
Please note our usual parking for Carols on the Figtree High School top oval (off Gibsons Road) will not be available this year. Due to this, parking nearby will be limited. We encourage you to carpool where possible, or park and walk if able. Here are some options regarding parking on the night:
- Figtree Anglican Church carpark will be available but we ask that you leave this for those who are less mobile.
- Drop off zones will be set up in the FAC carpark and outside Figtree High on Gibsons Road.
- From the drop off point on Gibsons Road there will be pedestrian access to the Carols via the Figtree High's top oval.
- NewDay Church on O'Briens Road have generously made their carpark available on the night. This is a short 10min walk from the Northern entrance to Carols.
- Volunteers are requested to park in the Figtree High School teachers' carpark, which will be manned by the RFS for safety.

The forecast for Saturday is for very warm and sunny weather. We encourage you to drink plenty of water and slip, slop, slap, seek and slide! That is SLIP on a shirt, SLOP on plenty of SPF 30+ sunscreen, SLAP on a hat, SEEK shade and SLIDE on some sunnies.

For many years, God has been answering our prayer to raise up workers for his plentiful harvest. One of the ways he has done this is through the 410 Intern program at Figtree Anglican. The Intern program is suitable for any age and is designed to grow disciple-making disciples who will be equipped to take further steps in ministry and assist in discerning how they are to be sent deeper into the mission of Jesus. Internships run for two years, include the opportunity for theological study, and the chance to explore and equip in a ministry area you are passionate about! If there is a ministry FAC is involved in and you would like to explore it, we would love to hear from you! If you would like to find out more about interning at FAC, click the button below for an information pack. The ministry team would love to join you in exploring God’s calling for your next season.

Praise God for the opportunity Carols was to connect our community to Jesus and to our church; for those who served in so many ways; for willing hearts and for the wonderful witness of grace in action the event was for the local community.
Pray that God, in His mercy, would continue to be at work in the hearts of those in our local community who engaged with us through Carols last night, and who have engaged with FAC over the past year, prompting them to reconnect with church and His people through Christmas services.
Pray for the preparation of our Christmas services and especially for Greg Bell as he oversees the teams who will lead us in worship.
Praise God for the many volunteers at FAC who have led ministries over this past year; for their faithfulness in seeking to be God’s servants, encouraging and building others up to persevere in continuing to run the race well.
