Commitment Month Preaching Series

Figtree Family Tree new preaching series

New Preaching Series

Starts this Sunday

A hymn written by Van de Venter and Weeden and sung by followers of Jesus across the centuries, declares:

All to Jesus I surrender,

All to Him I freely give;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all.

All to Thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender all.

In the words of Paul the apostle to followers of Jesus in Philippi, and read by Jesus’ followers across the millenia, Paul exhorts, “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.” (Phil 1:27). Is this worthy manner possible?

In our October Commitment Month, we explore what it means to surrender “All to Jesus”. I encourage us all to pray to God as we read ahead in a Letter to the Philippians, receiving it as a letter to our church today.

Some questions I have faced as I read this letter, and I hope we shall join in asking of ourselves at Figtree Anglican Church, are:

  • What does Excellence look like in my life?
  • What must change in my perception to see Everything as belonging to Jesus?
  • What heart surgery do I need God to do in me so I long to share Jesus with Everyone?
  • How can I lift my Engagement for Jesus?
  • How may I loosen my grip on temporal things to have a lasting impact in Eternity?

Five weeks, five questions for our Sunday sermon series accompanied by studies in Phiippians, to explore and enjoy during our devotional time or LifeGroups in the week.

By God’s grace, let’s bear in mind how, “in our relationships with one another, we are to have the mind of Christ Jesus,” (Phil 2:5).

410 Intern Opportunity

For many years, God has been answering our prayer to raise up workers for his plentiful harvest. One of the ways he has done this is through the 410 Intern program at Figtree Anglican. The Intern program is suitable for any age and is designed to grow disciple-making disciples who will be equipped to take further steps in ministry and assist in discerning how they are to be sent deeper into the mission of Jesus. Internships run for two years, include the opportunity for theological study, and the chance to explore and equip in a ministry area you are passionate about! If there is a ministry FAC is involved in and you would like to explore it, we would love to hear from you! If you would like to find out more about interning at FAC, email connect@myfac.org.au for an information pack. The ministry team would love to join you in exploring God’s calling for your next season.

Prayer Focus

Mission Partner - Lighthouse Evangelical Church, Vietnam - Church for the Deaf

Pray for Pastor Thuan and Esther and the Lighthouse Evangelical Church as they seek to plant a church for the deaf in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Pray for work opportunities for deaf people. After the COVID pandemic, there are less work opportunities for the deaf in the city. As a result, they may be requested to go back to their home towns.

Pray for outreach work: there is monthly game time to attract the deaf to church and weekly visits to deaf people who are contacted through local authorities. Pray that God would work and show Himself through these evangelism efforts.

Pray for the raising up of key leaders to be ready for the launch of the church.

Zoom Weekday Prayer
