New Preaching Series

new sermon series Crowns

This Sunday we will be starting our new sermon series, opening the Old Testament book of 2 Samuel for a series titled ‘Crowns’. In this series we will see David finally wearing the crown of Israel, look at how his crown contrasts with that of Saul, his predecessor, and look forward to the crown that Jesus, the Son of David, will wear. In preparation for this series, it will be helpful to remind yourself of the story that unfolds in 1 Samuel, which we looked at last year. Can we encourage you to take some time to check out a great Bible Project video resource that offers a great summary of 1 Samuel, and also access the LifeGroup Bible study, by clicking the buttons below.

Special General Meeting

Special General Meeting

11:30am | Sunday, 5 February 2023

We're giving you notice of a Special General Meeting of Figtree Anglican Church that will be held here 11.30am, Sunday, 5 February. It's to hear and vote on a motion to approve the administration of the parish of Figtree under Schedule 2 of the Parish Administration Ordinance 2008. Currently we operate under Schedule 1, but there is a desire to switch to a Schedule 2 arrangement, so that we can absorb more of the administration burden from our brothers and sisters up the road at Mt Kembla church.

Prayer Focus

Scripture in Public Schools

Pray for SRE, the SRE teachers and helpers, as the ministry starts up again for the new school year.

Praise God for those who serve so faithfully in this ministry, some over many years; for their commitment to teaching kids and youth about ‘life found only in Christ’.

Pray for the ongoing raising up of more ‘willing workers’ to be teachers, assistant or relief teachers.

Pray God’s protection over the freedom we still have to teach scripture in NSW public primary and high schools, and for maintaining a positive relationship between the church and school principals and teachers.
